[TENN] Macacca Moment: Skeptical Brotha takes on Nikki Tinker
Thu Aug 07, 2008 at 09:30:21 AM PDT
Okay, we'll make this short and sweet. I'm recommending you bounce for just a few minutes, to read someone else's diary. He puts it better than me, anyhow.
Skeptical Brotha on Nikki Tinker
Just a sample:
As [Trojan Horse] implies, Aunt Nikki is a stealth weapon of the right-wing that optimally would be used to destroy progressive black representation and the social, political, and economic viability of Black Memphis. Unfortunately for our corporate enemies on the right, Aunt Nikki’s campaign exploded today like an IED in a war zone when it released an ad which strikes a note of false religiosity and implies that Steve Cohen is an Jewish interloper unwelcome in black churches and alludes to a bill to protect "religious freedom" and the unfettered right of religious organizations to discriminate against gay and lesbian people. This is the culmination of her clumsy attempts to make inroads with the black ministerial community by pandering to the homophobia of a select group of black pastors.

Talk Truth: Islamic Radicals and Democracy
Thu Feb 28, 2008 at 08:06:48 AM PDT
Six year survey out today, taken over the entire world. Take a look, and we can start debunking some myths.
Survey On Islamic Beliefs
Okay, so some of this isn't surprising. 93% of Muslims condemn terrorism. At this point, that is obvious. Perhaps it wasn't so obvious when the study was started.
But what leaps out at me is the demographic and political views of the radicals. You know, the people who support terrorism.
So I'm going to talk about who they are, and who they aren't, via analogy.
Science Studies God

... or, more specifically, relationships with him.
Science lacks the ability to tell us that God exists -- or does not. After all, science lacks the ability to tell you that I exist -- or this universe. Science constructs theories of what is most plausible -- should there be something that immediately and conclusively disproves the "universe" hypothesis... We'll just throw it out the window!
Until then, we are forced to study G-d through physical objects, in this case, human brains.
Here's me link. Discussion follows:
Brain, G-d and Science
A Miracle Happened Here; So here come the tourists
Mon Oct 29, 2007 at 07:33:07 AM PDT
Talk about just desserts. One of the founding fathers of the 'Right Wing Conspiracy' against Bill Clinton is currently in the midst of a messy divorce. The reason? Richard Scaife cheated on his wife. G-d has given this man a miracle 'wake up call'. Let us pray that he heeds it.
Here's the straight scoop
Oh, so now we've got tourists, coming to photograph the miracle mess (I didn't think anyone would actually bother, but what do I know?).
And the moral to this story: G-d may help those who help themselves, but make enough enemies, and sooner or later, G-d will help one of them instead.
Yesterday, I laughed
Wed Oct 17, 2007 at 07:41:23 AM PDT
So yesterday i found a protest. with attendant counterprotest. It looked hostile, but non-violent. One side was all about hellfire and damnation, the other about Gay Rights. I walked through, looked at their signs (all of them) and started laughing. Loudly.
That was my message for the day. The utter silliness of protesters, trying to tell people what to believe.
That, and I wasn't going to take shit from anyone.
